As a leading board-certified podiatrist with extensive training in conservative and surgical corrections, John Susz, DPM, FACFAS, has helped countless patients of all ages recover from the pain and severe foot and ankle issues. Dr. Susz cares for patients at his state-of-the-art practice, Susz Podiatry & Wound Care, in Russell, Pennsylvania, and Lakewood and Westfield, New York.
After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the State University of New York, Buffalo State, Dr. Susz was accepted into medical school. He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, an affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York.
Dr. Susz went on to complete a three-year surgical residency program at Millcreek Community Hospital, which is an affiliate of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. During his residency, Dr. Susz gained extensive experience in foot and ankle disorders and advanced minimally invasive surgical correction.
Following his residency training, Dr. Susz entered private practice. He was on staff at two Level I trauma centers, multiple surgery centers, and the Frederick Memorial Hospital in Maryland. During this time, Dr. Susz was part of a multidisciplinary team treating lower extremity wounds and performing diabetic limb salvage procedures.
Throughout his career, Dr. Susz has stayed abreast of the latest podiatric treatments and service advancements.
Dr. Susz is interested in diabetic wound care, limb salvage, heel pain, and modern bunion treatments with the Lapiplasty® 3D Bunion Correction™ procedure.
